I have a 12-year old terrier mix named Buddy who never spent much time around dogs (I'm a bad mom.). He's always been a little nervous, and adopting our overly excited basset/border collie mix Sally two years ago only seemed to upset him further. We've tried greeting other dogs on our walks, but it always ended badly, and we just assumed poor Buddy would never make friends. When we had to go out of town and our dog-sitter wasn't available, we fretted that no one would even accept our less than perfect pooches, but I talked to the folks at Petropolis, and they assured me they'd do everything in their power to socialize our dogs and make sure everyone would be safe and happy. Four anxious days later, I returned to pick up Buddy and Sally from Petropolis, and they didn't want to leave! They were happy and calmer, more obedient, and I think Sally - our niece calls her "portly" - was thinner and more muscled. The next day on their walk, we greeted several dogs without incident, so we felt brave enough to try eating out at a dog-friendly restaurant. Buddy and Sally sat calmly and undisturbed just feet away from an enormous, barking St. Bernard. It was a miracle! We knew then that Petropolis would be their home away from home from now on. On their second visit to Petropolis, Sally bolted from the car and tried desperately to enter Petropolis on her own. There was no fear, no clinging to mom. They couldn't wait to play with their new friends! And the staff has been just great, making sure their feeding schedule isn't interrupted and their medication is given exactly as needed. I tell everyone I know that if you need a kennel, groomer, daycare, or training, I can't think of a better place to recommend than Petropolis!
Thank you!

Dear Brad,
I would like to tell you and the staff at Petropolis how wonderful I think you all are! I have been like a worried mom, taking my "child" to daycare. Doggie Day Care is AWESOME!!! When I picked Lexie up on Halloween she had a bag of treats and most important to me, a PHOTO of her in costume! It was SO darling and I really appreciate it. You guys are the best. Grooming, too!
Love,
Lexie's Mom

Just want to say “thanks” for the great care you gave to our baby Chloe. She is truly a princess to us and enjoyed the time spent at your location. We could tell from the way she acted when we picked her up she was glad to see us, but would welcome another stay at Petropolis any tine She had a spark in her eyes that told us she was well taken care of and pampered in a way that she was used to. Chloe has a way with her body language that let me know that she would welcome another stay at your location so she could spend time with all of her new friends. It is a warm feeling to be on vacation knowing that she was having as much fun as we were.
Please let your staff members know that we are truly grateful for the great care and attention that they gave her. Will see you soon!

We first "discovered" Petropolis about 5 years ago when we moved to Chesterfield. Being the proud owners of two American Pitbull Terriers, it was difficult to find a kennel that was accepting and welcoming of our dogs. We checked out some kennels around the area, but they either did not accept our dogs or the atmosphere was not appeasing. That's when we found Petropolis. At first, Petropolis was just a place that
allowed us to board our dogs, the staff was nice, and the vet was just next door. However, over the years Petropolis became more than just a place of convenience. It became like a second home to our dogs (and to us). It was so great to know that we could drop off our dogs for boarding and Brad or Tammy would know exactly what the dogs needed, what
kind of bath we liked to give the dogs, and, since the veterinarian was just next door, we knew that the dogs were not far from healthcare, if needed. The staff at Petropolis takes it upon themselves to get to know the customers and they take such great care of every dog that walks through their doors. Our dogs would get more than excited whenever they realized they were headed to Petropolis, it was like they
were more happy to be there than they were to be at home! Now that we are moving, we wish we could take Petropolis with us, but it makes us happy to know that if ever we were to return to St. Louis there would be no other place we would board our dogs. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

I've been taking my dogs to Petropolis for a few years now. Brad, Tammy and the whole staff are so friendly and have such a genuine care for animals that I couldn't imagine taking them anywhere else. I know my boys are getting the same attention at Petropolis as they would if they were at home and that makes leaving them a little more easy. I'm impressed with all the activities Petropolis has to offer and I am even more impressed with how excited my dogs get when I tell them I'm taking them there. They're definitely doing something right.
