Nemo Nibbles: Creve Coeur Lakehouse

Birds chirping, a light breeze and chatter from walkers passing by are the sounds of the Creve Coeur Lakehouse patio. With big umbrellas and a spacious seating, this is the perfect place for a weekend activities and a relaxing meal. Only a 10 minute drive from Chesterfield, the Mallard Lake view is one of our favorite options for patio eating with your pup.

Nemo’s Favorite Features

  • Spacious – As a larger dog, it is important to have space for Nemo to feel comfortable. With their large patio, it was easy to eat and have Nemo there. When we visited, the Lakehouse team did a great job at spacing pups throughout the patio.
  • Side of Bacon – Nemo enjoyed a side of bacon while his humans enjoyed a large menu with lots of choices. The Lakehouse provides a larger cooler of water with bowls for you to fill for your pup.

Our Favorite Features

  • Location – With a name like Lakehouse, you know the view is going to be great. Sitting outside with your pup is always fun but enjoying the lake views and nature sounds allows for a nice break from the city patios and busy streets. With multiple trails at Creve Coeur Lake, the Lakehouse is the perfect spot to stop after a long walk or afternoon outside.
  • Outdoor Bar & Drink Specials – One of the best parts for humans is their outside bar, making it easy to bring your pup and have access to drinks. The Lakehouse has great drink specials for spring, summer and fall as well as a seasonal menu to use seasonal ingredients.

Nemo Nibbles: Joey B’s Food & Drink

Just a short drive from Chesterfield, is a St. Louis staple, a Gianino’s family St. Louis restaurant. Joey B’s is a pet friendly spot with a lot to offer. The large patio is packed with seating, perfect for your pup. They also have umbrellas, TV’s, fans, heaters and much more to keep you and your pup comfortable during your outdoor dining experience.

Nemo’s Favorite Features

  • Attention – Nemo was the center of attention during our lunch at Joey B’s. Waiter and waitresses stopped by to say hi, bringing him water and continually asking if he needed anything. Other guests also asked to pet him and chatted about his breed, size and demeanor. If your pup likes attention, it is the perfect place to get extra love.
  • Fried Cheese Bites – While the menu is a little pricey for sharing with your pooch, Nemo ordered an appetizer to munch on. The fried cheese bites were delicious and Nemo ended up only getting a few because of his humans!

Our Favorite Features

  • Good Service – Not only was the Joey B’s team accommodating for Nemo, the staff provided great service for the humans as well. When sitting on a patio, the service can be hit or miss but Joey B’s ensures that you are not forgotten outside.
  • Impressive Patio – As we stated above, the patio provides a lot of options for any size family or dog. While the tables can be a little close together, they were more than willing to accommodate Nemo’s size and did not sit anyone directly near us. This casual dining experience can be dressed up or down and the fans/heaters provide added amenities for any weather we may be having in St. Louis.

About Joey B’s

Joey B’s is part of the famous St. Louis Gianino’s family of restaurants. From their website: The roots of the Gianino’s Family of Restaurants begins in the past century when Frank Gianino established his popular eatery Valencia’s on Delmar. In the process of serving his patrons Old World Italian favorites, Frank began a tradition of good food and good service that is continued today through the Gianino’s Family of Restaurants. Wherever you may find yourself in St. Louis, there is a Gianino’s family restaurant nearby. You are cordially invited to stop by any of our restaurants and meet the Family. We believe it’s the tradition of providing a comfortable, warm atmosphere and a commitment to good food that truly sets us apart and will make your visit one to remember.

Nemo Nibbles: Wente’s Open Wheel Restaurant and Saloon

Start your engines! Wente’s located in Chesterfield, MO (previous known as Gumbo Flatts) is a racing themed restaurant and the perfect valley staple for you and your pup to visit. Great for an after work dinner or a relaxing weekend meal, Wente’s has a spacious patio. This ‘hole in the wall’ has great ‘hillbilly specials’, service and a small town feel.

Nemo’s Favorite Features

  • Spacious – As we have stated before, for Nemo it is important to have space. The patio is a large concrete pad with a sturdy tent over top and picnic/patio tables for seating. While the décor may be lackluster the large open space is perfect for a large dog.
  • Meaty Menu – There is no dog menu but there Nemo did get to order a hot dog! While he was satisfied with his tasty lunch time treat, remember to bring your own water bowl.

Our Favorite Features

  • Price & Selection – The menu provides a big selection of bar food including pizza, smoked meats and burgers with prices that you can’t complain about. As one of our cheaper options from Nemo Nibbles, this menu gives you (and your pup) the best bang for your buck.
  • Relaxed Atmosphere – Since Wente’s has been around longer than the name Chesterfield, you can imagine the laid back attitude when it comes to dinning out. The atmosphere doesn’t affect service, as your food will come out fast and hot. Even if you don’t enjoy racing, the patio is the perfect place for a simple meal with your pooch.

He also won the Night Before the 500 Midget Car race in 1969 and again in 1976. He won the prestigious Hut Hundred in 1963. His only appearance in the Indianapolis 500 was in a car prepared by his Midget Championship-winning mechanic, Bob Higman, in 1964.
