Dog Training FAQs

We offer dog training as a membership that is charged weekly. There are three different packages, ranging for $133.80/week to $360.00/week.

All dog training packages include an hour of training per day, group or solo play at dog daycare, and a private lesson every 6 sessions. The difference is how many days per week are committed to training: 1 day per week ($133.80), 2 days per week ($253.00), or 3 days per week ($360.00)

We will start training a dog as early as 12 weeks old (8 weeks with manager approval). Our puppy training programs focus on socialization and basic foundations. For adult dogs, it's never too late to start—we regularly work with dogs of all ages and have specialized approaches for senior pets.

When signed up for any of our dog training memberships, you can choose from any of the following skills, manners, or unwanted behaviors shown here.

We work with a wide range of issues including reactivity, fearfulness, separation anxiety, house training problems, and more. We'll assess your dog's specific needs during your free evaluation.

We use science-based positive reinforcement techniques that reward desired behaviors rather than punishing unwanted ones. This approach builds your dog's confidence and strengthens your relationship rather than creating fear or anxiety.

Yes! Beyond our standard packages, we offer specialized training for therapy dogs as well as some dog sports. Ask your trainer for options and availability.

Some owner participation will be required, as it helps you learn the training techniques needed to continue your dog training at home. However, owners typically drop their dog off with our certified trainers and come back later in the day for pick-up.

We would love to train all of your furry family members. However, some coordination will be required so that each dog can have private time with trainers to address their specific needs. We can discuss these details during your free evaluation before starting training.

All dogs at Petropolis are required to have their Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), Bordetella vaccines. Visit our vaccination policy page to learn more.

Many owners notice improvements after the very first session, especially with our guidance on consistent handling. Long-term behavior changes typically become reliable after 3-4 weeks of consistent practice with our techniques, but every dog is unique and there are not guarantees.

Our trainers are experts in their field, with years of experience and many holding certifications in professional dog training from The Academy of Pet Careers.

Yes, we offer board-and-train programs. Dog training can be added onto your dog's boarding stay for ultimate convenience while you're away.
